Walk in Authority

Today I received a reminder on my Facebook page from 6/15/2017:

“Today’s assignment!! Day 3 - Walk in Authority!”

“And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.

Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.”

Ephesians 6:10-18 MSG

Even the rocks are crying out for hope!!

Today we fight!!!

Fight for Justice!

Be steady, get ready! God’s about to move!!

Keep Singing! Keep Praying!!

I WILL SING UNTIL THE MIRACLES COMES!!

Jesus called His disciples to Him and gave them power and authority over unclean spirits and to heal all kinds of sickness and disease. He told them to go and preach that the kingdom of heaven is at hand and to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers and RAISE THE DEAD!

We are to obey the words spoken to us by our Lord and King, Jesus. We are operating in the power and authority He gave to US! We are called and commissioned to live our lives in this way for His glory.

“Why do any of you people think it is impossible for God to raise people from the dead?”

Acts 26:8 NCV

The four days leading up to my husband’s funeral, I woke up with an assignment of how our family was to pray as a corporate body of believers. We were believing for a resurrection story. On the day of his service, the faith in the room was unlike anything we had ever experienced. He didn’t wake up as we had hoped, but WE did!!

Over the past four years, our church body has been raising money to build a gym in honor of my husband. This weekend was the dedication. It’s called the “Ben S. Dillon Life Center”. Even though Ben wasn’t raised from the dead, this building was raised up out of a dead situation, and life is what was declared and what we believe will come forth from it.

Sometimes, life smacks you in the face. It is in those moments we get to see who we really are. I am proud of my church’s corporate response. I am proud to see the fight from our local church body and beyond that agreed with us. We fought in praise and prayer; they are the best weapons and they need to be used often, especially in these days and times. An eternal perspective was also a gift given in my husband’s passing. He crossed into eternity and with it my spirit was raised to a high level of thinking and believing and feeling. I feel his goodness. I see the evidence all around me daily. My thinking has been renewed for three years and I can say, “I’m different, but the new thinking looks good on me.”

And so, this marks the finishing of a season. Now it is time to start the after story.....His glory will be a part of my after story. I will keep singing until the miracles come. I hope you will too.

Remember, no matter your story you can always bring your cheer and smile from ear to ear. And, if you don’t feel any cheer, find a friend who has cheer and allow them to speak into your life. A grateful heart is contagious and worth growing. Here’s to the after......
