Happy June!
In the month of June, I have to walk through many major dates. The first one being my wedding anniversary. Then, the date of my husband’s lifting off into heaven. And finally, at the end of the month is my birthday. June has many family birthdays and anniversaries as well. So, it’s a lot.
Yet, as I was listening to my Dwell app, it was going through Isaiah and some passages stood out to me. Most of this month’s blogs will be passages from Isaiah. He was a worshipper and a prophetic voice in the earth in his day and time. May was hard for me in many ways, and this passage brought hope to my heart. My desire is that it does the same for yours. ❤️
New things, I declare!
“Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law.” Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it: “I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house. I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images. Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”
Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise from the ends of the earth, You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, You coastlands and you inhabitants of them! Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, The villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing, Let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory to the Lord, And declare His praise in the coastlands. The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies.
-Isaiah 42:1-13 NKJV
There are so many beautiful lines in this passage. I underlined the highlights for me, but this part is my favorite:
“Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them. Sing to the Lord a new song.”
I have a picture in my room with a quote from Mother Theresa that says, “Life is a song. Sing it.” Sometimes the song is taken too literal, and it’s really more of a metaphor for life. What is your life’s song? What would the story or lyrics of your life sound like?
This month marks five years since my husband, Ben, passed. So many things have changed over the past five years. For some, this process of change started long ago. For others, maybe it’s been more recent. Either way, it began our metamorphosis story.
Ladies and gentleman menders, we can't go back. The past needs to stay in the past. We can‘t continue living in regret. So, let's drop the dead weight holding us captive to the lies that lay deep down to the point of rotting our bones. To receive the more He has in store for us, we have to release/empty out the guilt, shame, disappointment, grief and traumas that have been holding us hostage. Telling us we are not good enough, skinny enough, smart enough, lovable enough, righteous enough, etc., to become who God designed us to be. Well, enough is enough!
We have to step over this breaking point towards the new awakening crying out to be released inside of us. Come alive daughters and sons of light!! Come alive!! It's time to wake up our senses again. Increase our sensitivity to His presence, His holy essence. This is our destiny.
As we continue this year, let’s follow the leadings from the Father and ride the waves of each day with patience and grace. This is not something easy at all to live out under pandemic stressors, and then adding our own personal stressors on top of that. However, I believe more will start to grow and glow from within us when we do. Women and men of faith, shine bright with His grace and might!
I have an upcoming song called Rays that talks about being daughters of light carrying His might. 🌅🌞☀️🌄🌇
For me, life is a song and I’m choosing to sing it! 🎤
Now, I want to hear from you. What is it about this passage that spoke to you? I love it when my menders comment below, which allows more of us to learn and grow, for we see differently and that is so beautiful to me. For, the more we know, the more we can grow.
I am really hoping over the next six months the blog will become more interactive. If you want more from me, let me know! Live videos? What would you like to see? I am open to your suggestions, for my heart is to keep evolving in this creative art blogging expression.
Until next time,
