Have you ever lost someone that you didn’t get to say goodbye to? Missing them becomes a daily routine as you are constantly reminded of your loss. While on my porch recently this thought came to my mind: the missing is a deepening I’m doing within. The heart is like a canyon. The deeper the missing the deeper the hole for God to fill up with His love.
God says, look for the rewards that I have set forth in your life after loss. They are in the in-betweens. Carry them like a badge. You will have an arsenal of weapons and gifts to use and share.
“Now I plead with you that when I come, don’t force me to take a hard line with you (which I’m willing to do) by daring to confront those who mistakenly believe that we are living by the standards of the world, not by the Spirit’s wisdom and power.
“For although we live in the natural realm, we don’t wage a military campaign employing human weapons, using manipulation to achieve our aims. Instead, our spiritual weapons are energized with divine power to effectively dismantle the defenses behind which people hide.
“We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. Since we are armed with such dynamic weaponry, we stand ready to punish any trace of rebellion, as soon as you choose complete obedience.”
2 Corinthians 10:2-6 TPT
Wow! What a passage. This verse says it all. Since we are armed with such dynamic weaponry, we stand ready to punish any trace of rebellion as soon as we choose complete obedience.
Obedience is the exchange lane. When temptations come your way, and they will no matter how spiritual you think you are, you have to choose to capture every thought and command it to bow under the truth of God’s Word. Then, something happens. We gain strength!! We feel empowered. We feel His divine power, even in the missing of someone through a deployment, loss, or a broken relationship.
This is my take away: embrace the missing! The more you allow yourself to feel it, the more He can heal it. 💞 Embrace what you miss and let Him seal it with a kiss. A mercy kiss from Thee changes everything, you’ll see.
“So now we come freely and boldly to where love is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.”
Hebrews 4:16 TPT
“Mercy kisses all his godly lovers, from one generation to the next.”
Luke 1:50 TPT
“Send your kind mercy-kiss to comfort me, your servant, just like you promised you would.”
Psalms 119:76 TPTb
There you have it. Father, send Your mercy kiss to comfort us. You promised You would.
All of God’s promises are Yes and Amen. They will not return void. Trust His promises. Look for them. A rainbow is one of the signs of His promise. I read this in my bible recently about what a rainbow represents:
Rainbow - bending most often translated warriors bow. For just as a warrior hangs up his bow after a battle, so God’s bow, without arrows, is now surrendered to the sky, and not aimed on earth because of his love for humanity. The rainbow around Gods throne is a full circle, for the earth does not cut off God’s rainbow promises. And it is an emerald colored rainbow around the throne, for it is the promise of life.
The rainbow is God’s bow without arrows. I love that so much.
2 Corinthians 10 reminds us that we have spiritual weapons. You must find your weapons of choice and use them wisely. Use them often and when the going gets tough, remember a mercy kiss from Thee changes everything, you’ll see. ☺️
And, if nothing else works to shifts your day, you can always bring your cheer and smile from ear to ear.
