A Weekend to Remember

Happy Memorial Day!!

This weekend was one for the books.

In 2018, I got the gift of going to Nashville, TN to experience the K-LOVE Fan Awards for the very first time. This year, I found out some of our friends were going, and I said to myself, well this is going down. So, I surprised my longtime friend and fellow widow warrior with tickets and we started our trek to Nashville on Thursday. Something that matters to me is to create space for new adventures. This weekend, about 20 people from our church family were at this event together and we got to worship with our best friends. How divine! It was good for our hearts and souls to enjoy the songs and see each other worshiping with all of our hearts. The kids even got to swim in our hotel pool in Asheville to start off the trip. Then, they enjoyed the indoor water park at the Gaylord Opry Hotel, and then Sunday, back to the indoor pool to get their final swim on. Yes, their moms got wet too. The weekend was packed with events and meeting many new faces and sharing stories for His glory. Life is a gift, and the Giver is good y’all. To top it off, this event had an after party on a boat where Cain was playing a concert for us. I didn’t have tickets to this part of the event, but I made a fast friend and we ran into them and they gave us their passes. And so, I took the 3 older kids on a boat ride singalong. It’s was a first for all of us and a pleasant surprise that happened at 11 o’clock at night.

I don’t have pictures of all of it, for we were present in the moments, but I will post some of what we experienced below.

This weekend brought such joy to my heart, to see my longtime friends experience firsts and also giving glory to the Lord at the same time. This was a packed event and faithful fans showed up full of grateful hearts.

As Holly is driving us back 10 hours today, we are reflecting on His promises and faithfulness in our lives and those around us.

God is good! He is for you! The best is yet to come! Beauty is still being made out of the ashes of our lives. We can confidently say, Jesus, we still love You and we are so thankful for the love You continue to shower over us. Amen.

Finally, thank you to our military and their families, for without your sacrifice I/we would not be experiencing the freedoms we have today. My heart goes out to all those who fought and died for the cause of protecting us. Thank you! Those words don’t even feel like enough, for it’s an eternal call to serve when your life is on the frontlines. So, I/we honor you today and may we not only honor you today, but every day we cross paths with those in uniform. Amen.

I’ve got a new series coming at you next week called Grace Wins.

Until next time,

Keep gliding 🪁

Abiding 🙇🏼‍♀️

& Smiling 😁

P.S. If you want to invest in an amazing weekend of praise, people and pretty things, this is worth it!

Here is a glimpse into what this kind of weekend provides. K-LOVE sure knows how to throw an amazing event where the focus is solely on Jesus and honoring the voices that chose to go all in for Him. We are here as fans to say thank you for being all God called you to be. Your God-gifted songs have gotten us through our valleys and mountaintop moments. It’s a joy to come together and sing to our risen King. It’s surely is a glimpse of what heaven is going to sound like, and that understanding gets me giddy on the inside.
