Today, I want to talk to you about how God wants to have a big celebration for us. We can only experience this celebration by following Him, for only He can bring liberation. When your soul is set free, I believe there is a celebration in heaven and earth.
“In the same way, there will be a glorious celebration in heaven over the rescue of one lost sinner who repents, comes back home, and returns to the fold—more so than for all the righteous people who never strayed away.”
Luke 15:7 TPT
Let’s start by learning what liberation means.
Liberation is the act of setting someone free from imprisonment, slavery, or oppression; release; freedom from limits on thought or behavior. To liberate something means to release it from confinement.
What releases us from confinement? LOVE. Love liberates and that is something to celebrate!
Can you think of a time you were liberated by love? Did Jesus ever liberate you from your past disappointments? I hope the answer is yes! That is what the cross is all about. Your sin might have put Him on that cross, but it was His LOVE that kept Him there.
Has Jesus ever liberated you from inner negative thoughts? The definition above says liberation is freedom from limits on thoughts. When you make the choice to allow the word of God to wash over your mind daily, you start to believe His word and your mind becomes renewed.
“We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One. Since we are armed with such dynamic weaponry, we stand ready to punish any trace of rebellion, as soon as you choose complete obedience.”
2 Corinthians 10:5-6 TPT
What a powerful passage. I wrote this thought this past weekend and I want to share it with you:
“You have a sword. Me too. You have a helmet. Me too. You have some boots. Me too. You have a belt. Me too. You have a shield. Me too.
You and I, back to back, guarding all sides. Yes, can you see it? We are standing strong. We are Spiritual Warfare Warriors.”
I sent this thought to my mother-in-law and she sent me back this verse:
“The LORD has opened His armory, And has brought out the weapons of His indignation; For this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts In the land of the Chaldeans.”
Jeremiah 50:25 NKJV
We are His weapons as He goes into His Armory...His Church!!
Jesus is the great mender. He wants to celebrate life with us, but we must first surrender and allow Him to liberate us from the darkness of yesterday to the sunshine of tomorrow. I’m not saying it is easy. I have walked along the dark days and nights and sadness will try and take over your mind, soul, and body. But, Jesus wants us to celebrate life, not just live life. He wants us to be free and live in His presence. So, when you think your day is dark, sad, and overwhelming by loss, especially in this pandemic season, remember there is a party waiting for you; a celebration that never ends. Jesus wants to liberate each of us so the party can start and so we can live in the liberation from sadness to gladness, from dark to light, from mourning to dancing.
“Cel-e-brate good times. Come on!” 🎶
Celebration is the action of marking one's pleasure at an important event or occasion by engaging in enjoyable, typically social, activity. So, my encouragement today is to celebrate!!
I want to leave you with these lyrics of one of my favorite songs, No Longer A Slave by Jonathan and Melissa Helser.
I am surrounded
By the arms of the father
I am surrounded
By songs of deliverance
We've been liberated
From our bondage
Were the sons and the daughters
Let us sing our freedom
You split the sea
So I could walk right through it
My fears were drowned in perfect love
You rescued me
And I will stand and sing
I am the child of God
When you fully understand what being a child of God means, these are the words that start to flow from your heart.
Liberation is an emancipation that becomes a celebration.
Emancipation is freeing someone from slavery. Bondage has many forms. But, take heart, Jesus has given you the weapons within to overcome. So, go out into this pandemic world and bring your cheer, and smile from ear to ear. You might change a life. You might change your life.
