A true act of goodwill always sparks another.
What does Christmas mean to me?
Well, Christmas started the Sunday before thanksgiving. The decorations came down and were sprinkled all throughout my home. I chose a white and black Buffalo check theme for this year. So, I have been enjoying Christmas for a month now. There is something about the lights. The colors. The candles. The baked goods. The homemade Christmas gifts. The moments of togetherness that bring in great cheer. This holiday has been all about the cheer!
“A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22 NKJV
When you are merry you are cheerful and lively. Can’t we all use some of this cheer this holiday season? With all the parties, school activities, shopping, baking, more shopping, making a list and checking it twice. It is sometimes hard to be nice.
“But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.'” Matthew 14:27 NKJV
Be of good cheer and do not be afraid. It is promised! So, no matter what your Christmas holiday turns out to be. Remember, Jesus is the reason for the season.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and eliminate death entirely. No one will mourn or weep any longer. The pain of wounds will no longer exist, for the old order has ceased.” Revelation 21:4 TPT
Jesus came down from His place for us. He came as a baby wrapped in torn cloth. There is always more in that manger for us. His name is Jesus! So, enjoy the ones you are with and cherish all the moments! I have learned you may not get another chance to say all the things you want to say. To love all the ones you want to love. And to embrace all the ones you want to embrace. Be present! Don’t make it all about the presents you give. Because Love is the greatest gift of all.
“For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.”
John 3:16 TPT
The best gift we can give someone is the gift of salvation. You know one thing about this gift that is so amazing? It’s the one gift you can give away and keep 100% for yourself!!!
Bring your cheer and remember to smile from ear to ear!
